NAIW Mission Statement: The National Association of Insurance Women serves its members by providing professional education, an environment in which to build business alliances, and the opportunity to make connections with people of differing career paths and levels of experience in the insurance industry.
The Insurance Professionals of Monterey Bay welcomes you to our website. It is our goal to provide information to our members, and those men and women in the insurance industry interested in our association.
As stated in the Mission Statement above, the focus of the NAIW is to serve its members through education, networking and fellowship.
The NAIW was founded in 1938 by Elsie B. Mayer and C. Bertha Rachofsky who joined with nine other Denver insurance women to form an organization for educational purposes. Through its favorable response they investigated the possibility of a national association. An organizational meeting was held in June of 1940 with sixty-five delegates representing 19 groups from 13 states. This meeting resulted in the formation of the National Association of Insurance Women. The constitution and bylaws were adopted, as well as the creed: Fellowship, Loyalty & Education.
President’s message:
It is my sincere honor to represent my local chapter of the NAIW this year as President. I look forward to a fulfilling and successful term. I have an awesome collection of dedicated members as fellow officers and directors. As a team we are determined in offering our members all that the NAIW stands for through fellowship, loyalty & education. We are committed to giving back to our community through donations of food, clothing and volunteer time. In addition we will be holding several fund raisers, the proceeds of which will be donated to local organizations.
I am blessed to be involved with such a wonderful group of professional men and women. Knowing that you have that diversity of knowledge and experience available whenever needed not only locally but on a state, regional and national level is a gift beyond measure. The willingness of members to mentor, support and encourage each other is phenomenal. I know from experience how this association can help anyone in the industry to develop important skills and grow both professionally and personally.
If you are interested in what the NAIW has to offer I encourage you to attend a few of your local meetings and find out for yourself the value of membership. If you are already a member, get involved. Embrace the possibilities that await you. It will enrich your life in so many ways.
